Repeat Prescription Orders

Please email us with all requests for repeat prescriptions and food to prescriptions@lamondvet.co.uk

Please include the following details to prevent delays with your order:

  • Your name and address
  • The current best phone number to contact you on if there is a problem with your order
  • Your pet's name
  • The name of the food you would like to order, and the quantity requested (e.g number of tins or weight of bag)
  • The name and strength of medication you would like to order
  • The quantity of medication you would like to order (e.g. the number of tablets or volume of liquid)

Please review our repeat prescription policy below as your pet must have been assessed by one of our veterinary surgeons within the last 6months to continue receiving prescription medications (12months for flea and worm treatment.)

For flea and worm treatment orders placed before 5pm, they will be ready for collection after 3pm the following working day.

All other food and medications will usually be ready within 1-2 working days.

We will usually only contact you if there is a problem with your order.

Important:

Please feel free to submit your order at any time, however please be aware that:

  • Orders placed before 2pm Mon-Thurs will be available after 2pm the next day*.
  • Orders placed after 2pm will be available for collection after 2pm two working days later**, (e.g. an order placed after 2pm on a Monday will be ready by 2pm on Wednesday, and after 2pm on Friday will be ready the following Tuesday).
  • Some less common medications may take longer to arrive, subject to stock availability. If there is going to be a delay we will contact you, so please make sure you submit a current phone number/email address along with your order.
  • Some orders may be declined, for example if your pet has not been seen recently enough, or if it has been some time since the last prescription was issued. This is in compliance with current prescription legislation, and is also at the discretion of the member of staff dealing with your order. If this is the case we will contact you for a discussion or to arrange an appointment.

* Excluding bank holidays.
** Excludes Saturday/Sunday

While we will do our best to maintain the timescales outlined above, we request that where medications are required urgently, please contact the practice directly on 01506 461 462, and we will do our best to process your order more quickly.

Prescriptions can also be requested for all non-urgent medications. You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products from your veterinary surgeon or ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgery or pharmacy.

Please note there is a charge for a written prescription and each medication requires its own prescription. Prescriptions for additional medications are also charged. Because of governing veterinary regulations we can only prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products to animals under our care and following a clinical assessment.

You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed to your animal. The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions of relevant veterinary medicinal products every six months, but this may vary with individual circumstances.
